Tiger Woods 911 Call to be Released Today
A recording of a 911 call from Tiger Woods’ accident will be released today, a Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman said in an e-mail to the news media Sunday morning.The call was placed at 2:28 a.m. Friday by one of Mr. Woods’ neighbors who had been awakened by the sound of the superstar golfer’s SUV slamming a fire hydrant and tree, according to police. Police aren’t expected to release the identity of the caller.
The Florida Highway Patrol also said Sunday morning that crash investigators will interview Mr. Woods at his home Sunday at some time after 3 p.m. Investigators had been expected to visit Sunday morning after being turned away at Mr. Woods’ home on Saturday and Friday afternoon.
Public silence from Mr. Woods and his wife, Elin, has driven speculation about the circumstances of the accident. Members of the media and others have questioned why he left his home at that time of the morning and wondered about the severity of his injuries, among other things.
