The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) is a 26.2-mile road race.
Rick Katzada, the runner said, “It’s tough, it’s tough, but if you train right I don’t think you’ll have a problem,” A 55-years old Rick Katzada will runs his 20th marathon this Sunday at the Marine Corps. According to him, he says despite training there’s always a chance something could happen. Special preparation and planning have been making for this year marathon. Planners for the Marine Corps are prepared for the medical emergencies. According to the medical set-up, 11 aid stations with hundreds of roving paramedics and two major medicals camps will be planned. Capt. Bruce Adams, Marathon Director stated,
“Sometimes things are not very obvious on the outside and come to light their bodies are stressed or just circumstances are different.”
The MCM Health and Fitness organizers will introduces more than 200 booths and attractive centers for enjoyment and refreshment. Participants will need to regain their race materials at Packet Pick-up which includes their bib number and D-tag. In 34th anniversary of MCM, there will be 34 super-sized goodie bags with some very precious prizes will be distributed among the runners. Another interesting facility happening in this event would be foot massage during the marathon. The aim is to massage some 200 people at the same time to make place in Guinness Book of World Record.
