College Football Schedule 2009 – Week 8 – October 24, 2009

The NCAA college football schedule for week 8 doesn’t have as many great top 25 football teams battling each other like there was last weekend. There are no USC vs. Notre Dame or Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech type games on the card today. The only match up of top 25 teams today is 10^th ranked TCU vs. 16^th ranked BYU and 25^th ranked Oklahoma visiting 24^th ranked Kansas.

But there are plenty of inter-divisional games today and we all know that even though a team isn’t ranked they always give divisional opponents a good fight. Especially when an unranked team hosts a top 25 team in their house. The home team fans get a little more fired up when they have the chance to knock off highly ranked team and ruin their BCS hopes.

Today we have that scenario in a couple games. The Florida Gators travel to Mississippi State as they try to remain undefeated. The Texas Longhorns are also traveling as they head to Missouri to try to stay perfect on the season. Both Mississippi State and Missouri are long shots as they are underdogs by 22 points and 13 points respectively. But looking further down the board Virginia has a shot to knock off Georgia Tech as they play at home and Michigan State has a great shot at beating 7^th ranked Iowa as the Spartans are favored in their home stadium.
